Talented Theater Department:

On March 25, 2010: The Talented Theatre Department at Grace King High School announces its 2010 Spring Season. The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, by John Bishop. In this fast paced, hilarious comedy, the creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious “Stage Door Slasher”) assembles for a backer’s audition of their new show at the home of Elsa Von Grossenkneuten. As the composer, lyricist, actors and director prepare their performance, and a blizzard cuts off any possible escape, bodies start to drop in plain sight, knives spring out of nowhere, masked figures drag their victims behind revolving bookcases and accusing fingers point in all directions. The mystery is solved by a police inspector who unveils the real “Slasher”, but not before the audience experiences a generous serving of slapstick comedy and sidesplitting humor. Improvisational Theatre is a form of theatre where Actors use Improvisational techniques to perform spontaneously. Actors take story suggestions from the audiences which help guide the play and the dialogue. Based on The Second City Theatre’s Imrpov games, Freeze Tag Imrpov will stimulate your brain while Four Guys in a Box, Slow Motion Olympics, and What’s Sweeter Than That? will keep you in stitches.
